LAG
Ignore me if this has already been discussed, but when people post pics of their stats and they run at like 29/24 with a crazy winrate, are these guys playing consistantly like that at 6max FULL games? Or are the stats pretty high because they are playing a large amount 3/4 handed games?
Basically what I am trying to ask is if people adobting this style are doing it successfully at full 6max games, because everytime I try it I can't for the life of me get my stats that high withought being one big spew monkey! Are these player mainly playing this style at shorthanded games? And also, is it worth doing it at 1/2 anyway? |

Re: LAG
I don't try and play any particular style (change with game conditions) and run around 27/25.

Re: LAG
I think that you have to be a very good postflop player to be successful with playing laggy preflop stats.

Re: LAG
I played 27/22 the other night over 700 hands. I lost, but I did get coolered like 230498 times. It was fun, and I think it can be profitable. I'm moving to 22/18 for now though.

Re: LAG
I used to play 29/22 or thereabouts at the 1-2, 2-4 and 3-6 games. I'm not sick good, so I didn't have an incredible winrate, but I did win over all three levels and 100k hands or so. I mainly played full 6-handed tables, but I never shyed away from playing shorter either. So, yeah, it's definitely doable playing full tables, but I've recently been working on reeling my game in somewhat. These days I'm trying to get my preflop stats somewhere in the vicinity of 24-20.
If you've tried and been unable to get your stats laggier, though, I suggest a stint playing maniac at a lower limit. Specifically, drop to a limit where 1) the money doesn't matter, and 2) you are confident that you are SIGNIFICANTLY better than the vast majority of players. Say, NL$25. I drop down to play with a friend of mine on a pretty regular basis and play somewhere between 50-40 and 60-50. It's awesome fun, and when my mind is on the game I can beat the it handsomely with those stats. No way could I make that translate to the higher limits. But it gives me great insight into playing super loose and aggressive, as well as an insight into how someone with superior skills can treat the regs at NL$200/$400 with equal amount of contempt. It's therepeutic as well. Seriously, I highly recommend it |
