Default Frozen by a tiny bet from a calling station.

SB is 62/17/.73. He loves to call. His river lead, as small as it was, bothered me.

I don't know how comfortable I am raising and taking the chance of being 3-bet. That small bet by villian is just asking to get raised. Although I think the best line would be a raise to about 1/2 the pot and fold to a push.

Let me try to explain something. We post these hands to get feedback. Posting results generally tends to stifle discussion. So, if you'd like to discuss the hand, please do. Otherwise, don't feel compelled to post.

Should I be more comfortable raising because Villain is a calling station? And therefore, any reraise will make it clear I'm beat?

Villain is just trying to see a cheap SD. I don't know a lot about villain's tendencies but I would guess that he would bet more for value with the flush. If he was trying to get more money in the pot, betting $1 usually is not a good way to do that, as many people will just call without a great holding.

Of course this is a situation where good players can use reverse reverse reverse psychology or just make random actions, in which case villain could have anything from the nuts to a marginal hand. However, against a straightforward opponent, I raise for value. There is always a chance that your opponent was being tricky, in which case you can fold to a reraise and actually be glad for that initial show of strength. But unless he has the flush you are not getting raised. And why would he check the flush? There is no guarantee Hero is going to bet, especially since he checked the turn.

He won't call 1/2 pot if he hasn't a flush. I'd say 5 is a nice bet. If he has a flush or straight ( 97(s) ) he'll make it 10 and you can make a crying call -> meh. He probably won't make it more because he's a .73 fish.

Dude, he's a calling station, he'll call 1/2 pot without a flush.

Make it $20 fold to a push.

I'd raise to 10-15 and fold to a push. You're probably only getting raised by a flush and 10-15 bet leaves you enough to get away from the pot if you get raised. If SB's bet is indeed a trap bet and you come out guns blazing you're pretty much all in because you only have $35 left.
