AK hu w. 200bb
Villian is Scorpy on FTP. He is bad in my opinion and bluffs in bad spots/calls down too light. I am playing him on 5 tables of 10-20 and at first I was winning but then he caught lots of nut hands to my second best hands in big pots so he is basically owning me and up like 10-15 buyins overall. He and I have been 3 betting each other quite liberally preflop and we know that so I have started 4 balling now and then with suited connectors and he knows this because one hands I 4balled 67 of spades and he called w. QJ of spades. Flop came 5s 8s 8c and he open shoved like 1800 into 1200ish and I called, turned a 7 and won.
So as we can see he is calling my 4 bets oop pretty light (QJs). Here's the hand: 4k stacks 10-20 blinds I open to $72 with AKo and he repots. I repot to like $650something and he calls pretty quick. Flop comes Q J 8 rainbow and he checks to me. Who thinks betting is best here and if so to how much? I think he is calling my 4bets with a pretty wide range that looks something like: almost all pocketpairs, Axs maybe as low as A2, lot of broadways especially suited and probably sometimes suited connectors but I think he's got enough sense to muck J2o here at least. Anyways with about 1300 in the pot and 3300ish left is there any merit to bet/folding for like 800? If I bet anymore than 1000 then I am priced in to call as I always have at least 4 outs and usually 10 outs and sometimes even the best hand. This hand is already posted in bbv post "hey grimstarr" if you want results but please don't bring them over here. The question I am asking is if there is any merit to bet/folding or if I am always commited to calling the all in once I bet? |

Re: AK hu w. 200bb
I think this is a bad spot... well that is obvious. Is betting really the best option? I know i cbet here pretty much every time, but its always sick if we bet like 1k into 1300 pot and he shoves...
I would still bet around 1k, if he shoves then we have what 2350 left and the pot is... 5700... ughh |

Re: AK hu w. 200bb
GS,
Why not check? Your hand does not favor to be best so you are semi bluffing with a bet here in a spot where they wont fold many better hands and will shove on you tons because of stack sizes. |

Re: AK hu w. 200bb
of course checking is always an option but if he is calling a 4bet oop with hands like 22-TT isn't this a great board to bluff them off? if we check behind here he may become suspect and be more inclined to call a bet on further streets

Re: AK hu w. 200bb
Grim you need to check behind here, this board hits way to many of his hands. It sounds like you are getting 0 respect from him and I am not so sure he even folds 99 or TT.
