Did I make a mistake or just unlucky?

7 players left from a 2 table tournament. I have $8000 in chips in the small blind and the big blind has $15,000. The average stack is about $12,000.

Everyone folds to me and I call with 8-9 diamonds. Big blind checks. Flop comes:

9h 7c 3h

I bet half my stack $3200 and he puts me all in. I call with my top pair and he shows Jack-5 of hearts. The turn is a Jack and I lose.

Obviously I made the right call, but should I have went all in after the flop to get the drawing hand to fold?
