NL25, is bet/folding turn best play here?
It's not the first time a situation like this comes up where I feel that bet/folding is the best option. Usually when i have a reasonably strong hand on a very drawy board and feel the need to protect it and not give free opportunity for villains to bluff on a scary river. Here's one example.. if i had the ace of clubs i'd check the turn here.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Hold'em Cash Game $0.10/$0.25 Blinds 3 Players LegoPoker HH Converter <font color="black">SB: $36.80</font> BB: $25 <font color="black">HANABI (BTN): $25</font> <font color="black">Preflop:</font> HANABI is dealt T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players) <font color="red">HANABI raises to $0.85</font>, SB calls $0.75, BB folds <font color="black">Flop:</font> ($1.95) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) <font color="red">SB bets $1.25</font>, <font color="red">HANABI raises to $4.50</font>, SB calls $3.25 <font color="black">Turn:</font> ($10.95) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB checks, <font color="red">HANABI bets $7.50</font>, <font color="red">SB raises all-in to $31.45</font>, HANABI folds Uncalled bet of $23.95 returned to SB Pot Size: $25.95 ($1 Rake) Here is another example from a few days ago: Full Tilt Poker No Limit Hold'em Cash Game $0.10/$0.25 Blinds 6 Players LegoPoker HH Converter SB: $30.60 BB: $18 UTG: $70.60 <font color="black">MP: $28.45</font> <font color="black">HANABI (CO): $47.70</font> <font color="black">BTN: $0</font> <font color="black">Preflop:</font> HANABI is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 Players) UTG folds, BTN calls $0.25, MP calls $0.25, <font color="red">HANABI raises to $1.35</font>, 2 folds, BTN calls $1.10, MP calls $1.10 <font color="black">Flop:</font> ($4.40) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players) BTN checks, MP checks, HANABI checks <font color="black">Turn:</font> ($4.40) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) <font color="red">BTN bets $1.75</font>, MP folds, <font color="red">HANABI raises to $8.25</font>, <font color="red">BTN raises all-in to $28.85</font>, HANABI folds Uncalled bet of $20.60 returned to BTN Pot Size: $20.90 ($1 Rake) |

Grunch:
I think both hands are fine. I would have played it the same way. |

Re: NL25, is bet/folding turn best play here?
First hand looks good. Second hand I think I would have called his push. I don't know it just looks like a weak bet on the turn and villain may have took your big raise as a bluff. I know we only have TPTK but he looks weak to me.

I'd check turn in the 1st after he calls your flop raise I doubt your hand is good, and I would try to get to showdown as cheap as possible.
The second hand is debatable whether raising is good. I think if you're not going to call his shove you really shouldn't raise. |
