Adults wearing their highschool ring

I don't get it, I've seen it a lot too. Dudes in their 30's and 40's, heck even old'timers wearing their ring. Could be a college ring I guess. Is it worn for pride or nostaglia? I don't even know where my highschool ring is.

In 2002 I was at Pacbell for a Giants game sitting 2nd row between the plate and visitors dugout for Arizona. Just in front of us was some preppy looking dude in his cute little purple sweater with his shinny little class ring on.

we rode that dude all night talking crap about the d-backs in his ear...

...just totally obnoxious...





we realized how drunk we were just about the time he stood up, turned around and offered to kill us (or something to that effect).


...right about then, as he was waving his fist in my face, I once again noticed his shinny little 2001 world series championship ring.
