SRT-4 Used 03-05 with under 30k miles goes for 12-16k

WRX used will be under 25k OTD new might be a little bit more

Might also be able to get a used sti or '03 04 evo for under 25k

but buying used cars like this isn't a good idea because the last owner was probably a young kid who "beat" on them.

So i suggest you buy a 07 Jetta like me

Assuming new car prices, the first thing that comes to mind is the WRX. 0-60 is 5.4s. I did just get something in the mail about the (new?) Mazdaspeed 3, though, claiming 263 hp and 280 ft-lbf torque. The 3 is a little heavier than my Protege5, but if my P5 had 263 hp in it... holy [censored]. I don't know what these go for, but I think the old MS Proteges went for something like $21k.

Yeah, those Mazda 3 turbos are going to be very very quick, reasonably priced cars...

I told my wife today that I wanted to trade in the P5 for one of these MS3s. It didn't go over real well. They really botched the old MS Proteges, so I'm a bit skeptical of exactly how good this MS3 will be. 263hp is pretty ridiculous for a car this size, though, and the biggest problem with the PSProtege was that they whimped out on the extra power - only juicing it up to about 180hp. It looks like they at least got that part right this time around. Well, I don't know what the dyno plots look like, so I guess I can't even say that for sure. I'm not sure how well it'd get all this power to the ground, though, as I don't suspect they also made it AWD and I don't think the Proteges can handle all that much power without breaking loose.

teh,

Awful post. What the [censored] is your intent? Are you racing?

Obviously the fastest is some junk heap camaro / mustang / et al with a monsterously overpowered drop in engine that could blow up any lap now but I doubt that is what you want.
