wtf turn c/r? just bet your damn hand.

also, how could it ever be a bad idea to raise when there are draws out against you?

Dunno about .25/.5, but I'd prolly call this river. Depends on how aggro villains are.

Turn c/r is terrible.

Bet the turn. Call the river unless you have a read on SB.

Turn c/r is far from terrible and is likely better than betting in an aggressive game. A river call is -1 BB even without a read on SB. The board is K8769 with three hearts, he's leading after sick turn action, and you have two players behind you that could have improved. This is one of those spots where you have a really easy fold in a huge pot.

I don't think it's such an obvious laydown.

Big pots make players do strange things. This donk is K9/98/97 often enough that hero can call it once. The likely overcalls by worse hands gives you bonus money, and it's an easy fold if it's raised behind you. I think putting one bet in on the river is pretty neutral EV.

Here is such a hand I just played. The BB was a pretty bad player calling down with any piece of the board. This pot isn't really big, but I think it illustrates Aaron's point.

Ultimate Bet 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises, 4 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (6 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB folds.

Turn: (4 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

River: (6 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 8 BB

SB has Tc 9c (two pair, tens and nines).
UTG doesn't show.
Hero has 9s 9h (three of a kind, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 8 BB.

You are a far better player than me and so on, but a river fold is terrible imho. You just can't assume your opponents are rational The donkbet on the river could also mean a rivered two pair or something like that imho.
