A complete listing of No Limit Holdem Tournament Literature
I am trying to compile a complete listing of all useful literature on No Limit Holdem Tournaments. To qualify the book does not need to be entirely about No Limit Holdem or entirely about tournaments. So both Tournament Poker for Advanced Players and No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice would both qualify. I will include my listing of what I believe to be a complete listing but I may have missed a few or some of you may feel that some of the books on my list arent useful. Please comment on the selections whether you agree, disagree, etc.
It may seem obvious to you that the Harrington on Holdem series is the only must read in this group but my goal is try and see if and how these other books have contributed in any way. I would also like if you guys can add others that I may have missed. Here we go: Harington on Holdem - Volume 1-3 Championship Pot Limit and No Limit Holdem Cloutier Little Green Book Gordon Little Blue Book Gordon Making the Final Table Lindgren Kill Phil Rodman Tournament Poker for Advanced Players Sklansky The Poker Tournament Formula Snyder No Limit Holdem Theory and Practice - Sklansky |

Re: A complete listing of No Limit Holdem Tournament Literature
I would maybe take out Championship Pot Limit and No Limit Holdem and instead put in Tom McEvoy's book: No Limit Texas Hold'em: the New Player's Guide to Winning Poker's Biggest Game. It is not a treatise for tournaments but it is a good starting book and probably the best book on tournaments from the Cloutier/McEvoy line of books.
I started a thread a couple of days ago on what books to read for big tournaments and included also the Tells books as it could be important during long tourneys. |

Re: A complete listing of No Limit Holdem Tournament Literature
Avatar - I would agree with you to an extent. The New player guide is a good starting book for a novice but I do think Championship Pot Limit and No Limit Holdem has it's value. This book was considered the best book on tournaments at the time it was written. Things have obviously changed in tournament poker and there are a ton of better books but this book still has value in my opinion.

Would you consider the Cluetier/McEvoy book useless as well?

Re: A complete listing of No Limit Holdem Tournament Literature
The only McEvoy book that isn't completely useless, is the one with Daugherty, but that is a beginners book and has been made obsolety by HOH
All other McEvoy books are useless |
