$3, time for a squeeze? yes? no?
$3.30 Stars tourney, 564 starting, 168 remain. 99 paid
the whole table seems pretty passive, ive done a squeeze earlier (3 limps to me, i held 55 in SB, pushed, they all folded) about 30 mins earlier. The whole table has been playing pretty passive/weak. Is this situation grounds for a squeeze push? The stack of button worries me, but even if he calls im probably still getting sick odds with the dead money on my hand. Thoughts? Re: $3, time for a squeeze? yes? no?
I'd fold, button has too much of his stack in already for you to have enough folding equity. Your hand is gonna be flipping at best if called, and much more likely you're behind. Wait for a better spot.

Re: $3, time for a squeeze? yes? no?
A couple of things. Your play earlier wasn't a squeeze. I don't know what it is b/c it doesn't have a name. So I prefer, "picking up dead money from loose donks."
A squeeze requires a raise and at least one cold-caller. Then you shove. Just like the situation here. Which is not a good time for a squeeze. Button has already called off over 20% of his stack. It would be terrible for him to fold here, so you lose FE. Additionally, squeezes work much better when the initial raise comes from MP or LP, not UTG. UTG is much less likely to be raising light and willing to fold to a shove than a raiser from MP/LP. So...nope. Not a good time for a squeeze. |
