Ivey doesn\'t know Brad Booth?
I apologize if this has been discussed here already, as the HSP episode was aired about 10 days ago, but I couldn't find anything in a search.
Anyway, at the time this HSP table was taped a few months ago, Phil Ivey reportedly thought Brad Booth was some businessman, and thus folded KK to Booth's $300K all-in flop bluff. Barry Greenstein reported a first-hand phone conversation in which Ivey said he didn't who Booth was (and a poster in HSNL says Booth told him he and Ivey had never played a live hand together). Other knowledgeable people on the forum seem to think this is impossible. Anybody know one way or the other? |

Re: Ivey doesn\'t know Brad Booth?
Brad is the most known unknown poker player. And Ivey knows a lot of unknown poker players are poker players. So he knows the most known unknown poker player is not a businessman.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rue#Post9824636 he posted a few more times in that thread as well. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, that's the thread I saw, and it seems credible enough to me (Brad plays in a different Bellagio game, Ivey doesn't do much pregame scouting, etc.). But there are a couple guys in this thread who claim Booth was friends with Ivey in Vegas over a year ago (maybe Brad was dropping names to boost his own image then?), and several more who say there's no way in hell Ivey wouldn't know Brad Booth. I'm just fanboy-ish enough to be curious about it, but I guess not enough to already know the answer, as it seems like I'm being leveled by both sides on this one. |

Or maybe Ivey just made a bad read and folded the best hand. Crazy, I know.
