Re: Little green book lil blue book
I don't really know what an average intermediate player is in your mind but LGG is very good and LBB is ok. There are literally over a dozen threads on these books if you use the search function.

I like them both, and re-read them both every 6 months or so.

Re: Little green book lil blue book
Green book is absolutely a must-have.
Haven't read the Blue book, it seems geared towards tournament play & I play cash games. Any thoughts on this anyone? |

Re: Little green book lil blue book
Hi!
I like them both very much. The blue one is a analytic continuation of the green book. Both are highly recommanded, but read the green one first. regards |

Re: Little green book lil blue book
Both are decent, but I am going to buck the trend and say that Blue Book is more important. The stuff you can get in Green can be gotten from other books that are perhaps significantly better (i.e. NLHTOP and HOH:1). After getting this info, one really just needs examples and practice, which LBB is good for (though HOH:3 seems like it should be better for that as well).

Re: Little green book lil blue book
Little Green Book is excellent for it's purpose, which really shouldn't be anything more than a first NLHE book. It's short, to the point, and written for anyone to understand without being over-simplified.
LBB isn't really necessary at all IMO, although there's nothing wrong with it. I'd recommend Harrington's books, then NLHE:TAP. After that Theory of Poker and the Mathematics of Poker will give you a lot to work with. Once you got through HoH 1 & 2 and LGB, then you could mess with LBB or HoH3 whenever to do some hand analysis. |

[/ QUOTE ] Little Blue has a cash game section(page 9-95). I like them both, but i don't think that they're really a must-have. NLTAP is a must-have. |
