Default a-ok is worthy of mockery?

I should preface this by saying that _2000Flushes and I are good friends and are much more honest/caustic towards each other than we are to acquaintances or random passers-by.

Today I was talking to _2000Flushes and the following conversation took place:

Me: blah blah blah, but even if that was the case, I would be a-ok with it.
2kf: hahaha. <looks at me> wait. are you serious?
Me: Yes
2kf: a-ok?
Me: Yes
2kf: HAHAHAHA. I thought it was funny when I thought you were joking. Wow. I can't believe you really say a-ok.

a-ok is not something that I say on a daily basis, but something I say on occasion. To me, "a-ok" is to "ok" like "just fine" is to "fine". In both cases, I would only use the former when having a conversation, and I feel that each one as a slightly more light-hearted, dismissive tone.

Is the term "a-ok" funny and worthy of ridicule? I don't mind never using "a-ok" again. I just want to know if 2kf speaks for the masses or if he's as out of touch with reality as I perceive him to be.

Cup

P.S. For context, 2kf does have a cartoony, "HAHAHA" laugh.

I don't know why. I would say it only to mock the person asking me a question. A-OK sounds like something a kid would say.

It's the bees knees, baby! 23 skidoo!

Old expressions are fun. Your friend needs to loosen up and so do you.

people who say things like "that's A-ok" are the same people who say, "looks like somebody's got the case of the mondays"
