Robert Schimmel. His HBO special was one of the funniest I've ever seen. Also all his appearances on Stern are awesome. I've also seen him live a few times and ended up meeting him after one of his shows and he was a really good guy.

Kyle Cease is definitely one of the best comedians out there, he is awesome. His half hour special on comedy central was so well received that they just taped an hour special. He was the slow clapper in "not another teen movie" too.

I'll be the first to mention that I don't find Dane Cook funny.

I don't watch much standup but I found a couple of Martin Lawrence's inexplicably funny. I have no idea. Edit: I guess this may not fit your question, but whatever. Cook went on to other things now.
