Default c/r oesd on flop vs. unknown?

MP is almost unknown. He has only a few BBs left. Does it make any sense to c/r this flop? I know MP for maybe 6 hands~ or so and he has played them all(?). He has also bet everytime it has been checked to him. I guess I can't drive him off here and calling and check/folding the turn UI is better?

i would've played it exactly like you did with no read on opponent other than typical .5/1 player

If he had raised pre-flop I would have liked check-raising. As it is I think you'd be better served just by betting out. Your pair of fours could very well be best and you've got lots of outs to improve, but your hand is vulnerable. Just leading out makes it easier for him to fold because he hasn't put any money in on the flop.

If he calls, lead out again on the turn. River play is probably a toss up between c/c and c/f unimproved, but I'd lean toward c/c.
