3/5 Q hi flush on river facing 3 bet
Live game, villian in the hand is tight/passive. I have a pretty loose table image as i've shown a couple of big bluffs and been caught in a big bluff (representing a flush on the river) but villian and I have clashed in several big pots where I only showed big hands. After the last big pot, he said "I keep underestimating you, but you always have a good hand when you're serious".
Chip counts: Hero ($375) Villian ($500) Hero is button with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Preflop: two players call $5, villian calls $5, hero calls $5, both blinds call $5. Flop ($25): 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 checks, villian bets $20, hero calls, 4 folds. Turn ($65): T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] villian checks, hero checks. River ($65): A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] villian bets $50, hero raises to $150, villian raises all-in for $350, hero calls. Final pot: $765 I took about 90 seconds before calling the all-in on the river. I really felt like I was beaten by the nuts, but I just didn't have the heart to lay it down for only $200 more. How bad was my call? |

Re: 3/5 Q hi flush on river facing 3 bet
I was setting a moronic trap for him on the river. In retrospect, yeah, I shouldn't have checked the turn, but with my call on the flop I figured he'd put me on the flush draw and I didn't want to lose him.

Re: 3/5 Q hi flush on river facing 3 bet
Seems okay, given history.
Flop is raise/fold in a lot of games, but call is fine in most live games. |
