Am I a bit too greedy here??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wondering about my play in this hand. On flop and preflop. Final table of a 20seater online tournament. 7 remaining. 5 get paid. Blinds are 100/200. I am in the SB wit AdQc. My stack size is 4077. I am 2nd in chips. UTG makes it 400 pf. He has 1120 remaining. Chipleader to his left calls. He has over 10k remaining. Folded to me. I call. Comments? BB calls. Pot 1600. Flop is Qd6c5c. I check wanting initial raiser to push with his probable underpair. Comments.. He indeed puts his remaining 1120 into the pot. Much to my annoyance the CL flat calls. Actions on me. Chipleader is wild aggressive but I didnt want to get involved with him this soon. Anyway I decide to CRAI. All in all I think Im ahead of both, Chipleader calls. 2pots. Main pot of 4960. Side pot of 5114. |

This is totally fine IMO. CL has odds to call with FD now. he could have a set too, but it's poker...he more liekly has KQ or any other Q.

I think you need to lead this flop. Given your stack size and how close you are to the bubble it's okay to define your hand here.

Push preflop and it's not even close.

[/ QUOTE ] I hate it. You can muck your way to the money but instead you put your chips in the middle when your opponent is compelled to call given the odds. And all you have is TPTK in a 3-way. No need to get crazy here. Let CL take him down, save your chips. |

I like your play. |

Re: Am I a bit too greedy here??
Anyway I CRAI and Cl instant called with A6!! He hit a 6 on river. Original raiser had 77. Got unlucky but still wondering did not leading out cost me the pot.

Re: Am I a bit too greedy here??
A few comments.
With regards to folding TPTK to fold into the money, this is as enviable a situation as smashing my testicles between two bricks. If we are not betting a Q high flop, we should have folded pf, and taken up a safe pastime, such as monopoly, knitting, or masturbation. If the raiser was co, and button caller, then i really like the shove, to squeeze. But we have an UTG MIN RAISER. Is he a constant minraiser? Okay, we can be a bit looser, otherwise, he may have the dreaded AA, AK, or KK. I think he has KK here. I am vvvv wary of utg players, and minraisers. Leading out did not lose you the pot. If you bet, and pfr called, he would still have called. You made the right play, at the right time, and got your $ in the middle as a huge favourite. Not sure what the other guy had, but pokenum -h ad qc - as 6s / qd 6c 5c Holdem Hi: 1221759 enumerated boards cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV Qc Ad 828473 67.81 318631 26.08 74655 6.11 0.709 As 6s 318631 26.08 828473 67.81 74655 6.11 0.291 Getting better than even money is a good deal when you are 70% to win? |
