Update: Owner of my company\'s poker game
"Hey LJ, you gonna be there <he's talking about $500 buy-in tourny>?"
Me: "No, I'd love to play but I need to know the blind structure. I'm also really not a fan of 20+ person tourny with only 3 getting paid. Can I stay tentative for the cash game <$10/$25 $1000 min/max buy-in game>...?" "Sure. There's going to be tables everywhere, people can do what they want." Me: "So we can negotiate a structure?" "No." Me: "I'm not a fan of 40BB cash games." "That's how rich people play, and you haven't played that high. $35 gets you 10 hands." Me: "I actually have played that high, and normally the blinds are $5/$10." "Well you haven't played these people... You probably would get killed since you are so tight." I want to snap him off so bad, but I HATE HATE HATE 40BB format for cash games. |

[/ QUOTE ] SB = $10 BB = $25 SB + BB = $35 Nothing out of the norm, just a crappy blind structure. FWIW, I had to think about that for a few seconds as well mainly because I'm used to 6max, so the "10 hands," part didn't compute. |

Where the [censored] do you work, and can other people play this game?
Also, buy in 40, trash talk lots and get people to flip for stacks. Soon enough you will have several k on the table. Assuming people aren't awful, this game will quickly become much more than 40BB deep. |

Capped games suck when it's a casino and people keep running through and buyin in for the minimum and no one can buy in for the table average. But in a home game, wtf it's the same ten people, I'm sure everyone brings a few $K. |
