Social boycott- trip report/line check
My ankle is screwed up, so I was taking it slow around the track today, and had to suffer the company of a deeply stupid, always slothful, fat mustachioed cholo guy in my boxing class. I'm always polite to him, even when he tells me his theory about why evolution never happened at all, or about how boxing doesn't work on the street and how his "homeboy' supposedly wrecked Oscar De La Hoya in a barfight. I tend to place social expediency over moral or intellectual power-tripping and hold my tongue. Not so today.
He decided to brag to me about how he beat up a kid on the street and took his shoes. "That's terrible. Why would you do that?" I say. "Cuz I wanted the shoes, and that fool owed me money that he didn't even know about" I asked him how he would feel if his parents owed money to a company and they send goons to collect. He said "no one [censored] with my parents" So I try to build on that a la socrates. Needless to say, a platonic dialogue did not ensue. We argue a bit, and I even reached so far as to use his religion against him. He said "You don't understand. I don't care if it's wrong" I say "then I don't want to talk to you anymore", pick up the pace on my running, and then avoid him for the rest of class. He gave me some dirty looks after warm-up on the track, and one of his cholo buddies who used to be friendly with me looked at me sternly during our indoor aerobics. I don't know if ostracizing this guy is going to be worth it in the long run, but I'd feel gross about myself if I gave tacit approval to fatboy's loathesome braggery. I'm not afraid of fatboy. He's bigger than me, but if he came at me, I'd just take out his knees with stop-kicks. He's a better banger than me, but he couldn't use it because his footwork is terrible. He'd be helpless. Thoughts?

Wow dude you should have and 99% of people would have simply nodded and smiled. Pissing off some dude bigger than you who likes to beat people up for fun and box really seems stupid to me.

Make sure you intimidate and threaten anyone that DOES want to talk to this guy. The last thing we need is [censored] scabs ruining this when you've judged that no one should be talking to this guy.
