Default FT - iron man medals and mgr deductions

i was wondering if you take the medals option instead of the freerolls, will it only deduct from your mgr when you spend the medals? or does it deduct for earning them?

from my affilate in an email:

All medals given are not deducted from MGR, until you use them as points to buy items in the Full Tilt store. If they are used as points, then 27% of the medal amount is deducted from your rakeback payment (100% deducted from
MGR).

Hope that helps...
