Default Split Jacks in Stud 8

You have split jacks with a 9, three suits, a 3 brings it in, action to you, behind you are: A, 9, 2, K, 6. Your move.

That depends. What stakes? Live or online? Is the table tight or loose?

My standard play is too dump them on 3rd. One of the 9's is dead, others have potentially better hi hands & you don't have a lo at this point. IMO, with this hand, you are between the proverbial rock & a hard place.

If you had some sort of a read, an aggressive move maybe to raise on 3rd & hope to take it at this point. But be prepared to fold 4th unless you catch a miracle card.

Let's call it a $3-6 live game at Hawaiian Gardens in L.A. with primarily old, loose-weak players.

stpetebeach,
welcome to the forums, read alot more and you will see it is an automatic fold in any sized game with this hand. and most times with much less threatening cards behind you.
i know where you could spend 35 bucks and get it back in no time.
