Default finance moderator?

From: RedJoker

Hi Mat,

I'd like to apply for the vacant mod position in the Finance and Investing forum. This forum is very important to me and the other regulars there, I would like to see it run well.

I'd like to group the stikies together, 7 is too much and makes the forum look cluttered and untidy.
I'd also like to set up a FAQ, something which has been needed for a while.
It would also be important to me to see that the high quality, polite and repectful discussion that takes place there remain that way.

Thanks for considering me.

Regards,
Philip Weedle.

Hey Mat,
It looks like he has only made 5 posts in F&I in the last month. Also, he has been a member for only 7 months, I think you should get a more long term poster.

Diablo has made the claim for some time that this forum should be much busier. Is there anyone out there who knows a bunch about this stuff?

That forum probably won't require much "moderation", but if there is an expert who could help evaluate certain claims, link to pertinent articles, etc. that would be cool.

Maybe this guy fits that bill? I don't know. I can quiz him on this stuff, unless there are better candidates.

He's a good poster in bbv and seems level-headed. I have zero idea of his financial qualifications though or his ability to mod.

I'd be interested to see if El D could prove this. He also runs a business and seems knowledgeable about Finance.

I think it would be interesting to have El D as a support moderator in the finance forum, with someone who has more time and is not distracted by a forum named after him to take the lead.

He would also bring some star power and attract posters. I would certainly read finance more.

We could also try to recruit someone from off the site. I wouldn't have the first clue who to go to, but if anyone here frequents other non 2+2 finance forums they might have a suggestion.

fully agreed with this. the reason I don't read finance is because it's impossible for the semi-informed reader (ie me) to distinguish between in depth good and in depth terrible advice. but el diablo commenting in a finance thread, especially tech, adds instant credibility to it.

Not to stir up any more drama, but has anyone thought to ask sniper? I'm not sure if he'd be particularly inclined to answer, but he knows that forum better then anyone and still has a stake in seeing it succeed.
