Default Stars $27 AA vs limper

Hello,

In this $27 Turbo SNG on Poker Stars - this one hand had me thinking about it the whole rest of the day. Basically I'm looking at AA and everyone folds except a pretty straight forward guy who limps. Now my first instinct was to raise it strongly, but instead I made it 500 (I usually open-raise 2,5xBB at 100/200). He calls. Flop comes two diamonds. I don't want him to outdraw me so I pop the rest of my stack in. The rest is history.

I was wondering what you guys think about how I played the hand?

Some questions for you.
What odds were you giving someone to draw to a set?
Did you pay them off when they hit their set?
Would you have posted this if he had folded to your flop bet?
Do you think UTG played this incorrectly?

pwr,

I'd like raising a little more preflop so that I can make a pot-size push on the flop.

If you make it 700 you can do that.

But as played the hand is totally standard.

I would raise more PF like 700/800 and push the flop.

Well he limped UTG at 100/200 so we know he sucks. I suppose he could be limp r/r, but this is very rarely seen at this level. I feel strongly that there is more value if you never limp r/r in a 27 with AA.

So he sucks and we'd like to stack him. We don't want to lose him pre but we do want to get some more monies in da pot. 500 ain't bad, but I think 600 is best. 700-800 runs too big a risk of losing him pre. 500 risks the blinds being priced in or UTG finding acceptable odds.

So I like 600. Makes AI on the flop a little more natural too. FWIW, I'd do some FPS on this flop a lot against certain folks to try and get them to come over the top.

I'd make it T 700 pf. As played, pushing is fine, or you can just c-bet and hope he comes over you. Pushing all-in to "drive out the flush draw" is a bit too paranoid for me. Could he have a flush draw?? Of course he could, but he likely does not. I think making a standard c-bet and letting him make a mistake by pushing over you is more profitable than just shoving.

But I like a little more pf though.....

Thanks for all your replies! I will have to consider raising it more pf indeed.

Insty: Well I think I'm gonna pay him off if he hits his set. I prolly wouldn't have posted it had he folded, since his calling my raise was what made me wonder about my play. I think it was a bit careless to limp with 22, didn't expect that for sure, what can he hope for? A set. I think he played it kind of risky, gambling 500 of his chimps in this situation. Am I totally wrong?
