Default i think i may be an idiot

live 15
villain here seems to me to be solid. i don't really have any proof of this, but for some reason i get this impression. i have seen in him in the game of late, but i think he is relatively new to the room.

2 limpers, villain raises, folds to me in the SB and i load the bus to 3town with black JJ, limpers fold (i am shocked) villan calls.

flop HU:
KQ3 with 2 diamonds (either the K or the Q was a diamond, but not both)

i bet, he raises, i pause for a moment and think i may fold but i don't ever fold so i call.

turn: black 9
i check, he now checks.

river:
black A

i bet......

I don't like it. That A hit about every hand he can hold that raises the flop for a free card on the turn.

Clearly he thinks you're an idiot with an awesome avatar.

What are the pros to betting? Do canterbury players fold queens or kings to this bet?

Scared. Interpretted your slight hesitation as strength and was afraid of getting checkraised.

Or put another way, what hands does he play this way that make betting the river better than check/calling? If you think he has a diamond draw, that missed on the river. Is a small PP gonna call? He might have AT or AJ and isn't folding (or an ace high diamond draw).

I'm just trying to figure out if your river bet is for value or as a bluff and I feel like it's only right as a bet if it's a bluff. If the river was a 6, then you're betting for value.

villain here seems to me to be solid. i don't really have any proof of this, but for some reason i get this impression. i have seen in him in the game of late, but i think he is relatively new to the room.

2 limpers, villain raises, folds to me in the SB and i load the bus to 3town with black JJ, limpers fold (i am shocked) villan calls.

You were lucky to get a free look at the river. Unfortunately, the worst card for you falls. Bet ??

Your only chance is that he raised preflop with a pocket pair smaller than yours. Odds are against this, especially when he raises the flop.

Your bet essentially has the value of a bluf with nothing. You may get him to fold kings or queens. Your jacks are almost certainly beat if he calls. If he has anything he probably won't fold getting 7 to 1.
