10NL (9Max): More hands on AK...
I played another 1k hands today, and still my AKs/AKo hands today are like -9.2ptbb/100! I really don't know how to play them. *cry*
I post 3 hands on AK yesterday. If interested, it can be found here. ----------------------------------------------------------- Case 1: Villain is 59/12.5/0.7 over 72 hands... PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (7 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) SB ($11.10) BB ($9.60) UTG ($21.10) Hero ($25.50) MP2 ($3.45) CO ($7.45) Button ($9.55) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.5, 5 folds, UTG raises to $1.5, Hero calls $1. Flop: ($3.15) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets $2, Hero calls $2. Turn: ($7.15) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets $3, Hero folds. Final Pot: $10.15 Question: Is this a standard play? Villain shows a lot of aggression on a dry board. He could have AQ, any decent PP. I think there's no problem with PF play since he could be raising with a wide range of hands. On the Flop, is calling 2 dollar into a 5 dollar pot correct? On the turn, he fired again. So I think it's a clear fold. -------------------------------------------------------- Case 2: Villain is 9.9/6.1/1.5 over 260 hands... PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Hero ($18.35) SB ($15.75) BB ($10.15) UTG ($3.10) UTG+1 ($9.90) MP1 ($9.85) MP2 ($10.80) CO ($2.30) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 5 folds, Hero raises to $0.4, 1 fold, BB raises to $0.7, Hero calls $0.30. Flop: ($1.45) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $0.9, Hero calls $0.90. Turn: ($3.25) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $3, Hero folds. Final Pot: $6.25 Question: How about this one? This is basically the same problem as with case 1: get check-raised PF and Villain fire 2 barrels. But here Villain is a nit, whereas in case 1 the Villain is a fish. Against a nit Villain, should I 3-bet him here with position and cbet on Flop if he checks? --------------------------------------------------------- Case 3: Villain is 63/14/0.9 over 160 hands... PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP2 ($9.90) CO ($10.95) Button ($5.80) SB ($19.55) BB ($7.95) UTG ($14.40) UTG+1 ($31.30) Hero ($13) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG raises to $0.25, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.8, 4 folds, BB calls $0.70, UTG calls $0.55. Flop: ($2.45) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks. Turn: ($2.45) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB bets $1.8, UTG folds, Hero calls $1.80. River: ($6.05) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $5.35 (All-In), Hero calls $5.35. Final Pot: $16.75 Question: How about this one? On the Flop, I didn't want to cbet into 2 players who make loose calls from time to time. On the turn, I have a chance to draw to 2nd nut flush providing that he doesn't hold QQ, 22, or Ad. On the river, I think I have to call because he could have anything given his PF standard. ---------------------------------------------------------- In general, I find AK is so hard to play because if you don't hit A or K on the Flop, it's so hard to continue when encounter resistance from opponents (like in case 1 and 2). And once A or K hits, you have hard time to get paid off because people see overcard and are afraid of you continuous aggression. Sigh, I really need help playing these hands...
