Re: El Diablo forum, wtf?
1) El D spends a lot of time and effort on his forum and gets it to outdo the Lounge in posts and page views.
2) El D waits for others to then say that his forum is the "new lounge" and the "old lounge" is a failure that should be done away with, and the admins make it so. 3) El D waits a while and then says that due to real world commitments he no longer has time to devote to his forum and asks the admins to shut it down. 4) With both of those forums now defunct, all the subject matters they discussed now get folded back into OOT as was El D's intent all along. (So I guess I just blew any very small chance I had of being one of El D's friends who gets to start threads in his forum. Oh well.) |

Bluff, your logic is flawless except for one thing: El D likes the lounge.

[/ QUOTE ] HAHAHAHAHA Edited to add: He might like the concept of the lounge, but he doesn't like the lounge as currently implemented nor detracting from OOT by splitting off some of its content that provides a "diverse mix". |

Re: El Diablo forum, wtf?
My initial thought on this:
This does have the capacity to rape OOT. However, I think it may also have the potential to show us a new model to run a forums that could lead to a better S/N ratio. What I would hope the end goal is folding this forum back into OOT with continued restrictions on thread starting. |

Re: El Diablo forum, wtf?
It only has the capacity to smack OOT around a little. The forum it has the capacity to rape is the Lounge.

Re: El Diablo forum, wtf?
I'm not sure why the idea that heavily moderated forums work better keeps popping up on this site.
