Default Has anyone everdone this? (NL stupid mistake)

I played live for the first time in a while this weekend at the new isle poker room in biloxi, when the following hand came up. This isn't a normal mistake , but more of a brainfart. i'm just trying to figure out what i can learn from it

1/2 NLHE

Loose table (small bets not respect, even if the pot is small). I had been playingabout five hours and was sitting at about double my 100 buyin when the following hand came up.

I raise to 6 in EP with 99. That is followed by a minraise and 3 callers, i make the call.

Flop comes A 9 8, and i look at the board and thought i was looking for a 6, and a check/folded. about the turn i realized i wouldn't have raise there with 66 and remembered i had 99 and about punched myself.

The thing that made me mad that is was the most profitalble situation of my evening and I blew it, and i really don't know what i can learn from it.

I'm real good about quiting if i get sloppy in my decisions, and i quit after made that mistake. but i don't think i was playing bad before that.

Has anyone else done something like this?

maybe the min-raise was someone trying to be sneaky w/AA and you subconsiously saved yourself a lot of money. unlikely, but [censored] happens.

the thing you can learn from this is......don't do it again. Always check your cards before you much if your not sure what you had. I've gone to muck my hand and as I was getting ready to toss it in double checked and found I did get a piece of the board.

no the minraiser bet the flop and eventualy showed down KT. I don't remeber the turn or river(i was to mad). He was the kind of guy that thought a 6 raise was a pussy raise so he would reraise out of princible. anytime he had a big hand he raise like 25 so i wasn't worried at all about Aces. and yes he would raise to 25 even if there was 3 in the pot

That's a crappy situation. One time I was dealt 10-10 on the button in a loose good game at my local casino. I limped and the flop came down 6-2-K rainbow and it checks around. Turn card is a 3 and it's checked to me and I bet. Called by one player who had been laying beats on me all day. River is another 6 and Villian checks it to me and I bet. He raises and I call. He says 'Two pair' and beofre he even shows me his hand I turbo muck my 10s. He has A-3s. I think I was so used to him beating me that I didn't even wait to see his hand. A while later I told himwhat I did and he called me a liar. I know I'll never muck my hand again until the dealer is shipping it.

I damn near did it last week with A8s that I thought was A7s after six limpers and no raise preflop, an A8x flop, and a $40 flop bet. I thought about it, picked up my cards to muck, took one last look, realized I had the two pair, and shoved it all in for about $120.

Just the bettor called. Villain shows A7, MHIG. Karma?

Yesterday at Casino Arizona 5-150 game, I look down at what I thought was A5 suited on the button, limped around to me. I call. Flop comes down K55...I can't wait to get my money in the pot when the guy two to my left bets out 25, fold fold, and a raise from the lady next to me. I stop for sec and recheck my cards making sure I got the set with top kicker...I see A6 and quickly muck. Have no clue why I was so sure I had a 6.

I guess i try not to repeek at my cards, an i didn't misread them the first time, just got it mixed up in my mind, i think i had 66 a few hands before.

i might start repeeking more, i'm used to online where you can't not look at them

the reason i don't do it is to not give out info, but it doesn't matter if no one pays attention, which i don't thnk many are at 1/2

none the less i remebered how much i like live poker, playing the internet for too long sucks.

hell, I once was playing a ten-hour straight 15/30 game at Hollywood Park when I got involved in this hand:

I had AQ...raised, got re-raised and I called. Two to the flop.

Anyway, we raise and re-raise each other all the way to the river. My hand's looking good. The Villian finally slows down and checks the river. For some reason, I check my cards again to make sure I have the nuts, and see:

64 offsuit.

Inside, I have a coniption. Then I remember: oh yeah, AQ was the PREVIOUS HAND!

So, of course, I bet. And the guy folds, showing 2 pair on a straight and flush scary board. I quietly collect and decide it's time to go home.

so yeah, we've all had brainfarts at the table.

One solution is to always resqueeze them before you muck... even if you're positive you have KK, the board just came Axx and you KNOW the're going in the muck because of the raise, reraise and all-in in front of you
