MGM (1-2) Bellagio (2-5) have been known to generally be the best games as far as action is concerned.

I played at the Nugget when I was there the weekend after the super bowl.
I did very well in the 1/2 no limit. There is no max buy in, but noone was putting tons of money on the table. I liked the room, though it was a bit cramped. The staff were good, and I thought it was a very well run room. 1/2 no limit is as high a game as they had when I was there. |

I gotta say downtown is moribund, which for those with low vocabulary skills like the above, means close to death. Downtown is the only section of gaming in the state that's posting down numbers every month. There's few people down there. The games are awful. And I've finally reached the point where even the Fremont Street Experience is just dumb.
Sad. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is an expected downturn, downtown LV is in the begining stages of a huge investment process to encourage new business and housing developments. Freemont Street east of the experiance is now closed, many of the buildings are being town down and the entire street itself is being recommissioned as a historic district. The end vision of the Mayor is fantastic, but until we get there its going to be a slow period. PS: Ground just broke on the new Frank Geary building in downtown LV, thats going to be amazing. Re: best ssnl in downtown vegas? (1/2 or 2/5)
You really think so? I dunno. While the city appears to be doing everything it can to encourage a renaissance, the casinos are the ones who'll have to step up and invest, which they don't appear to want to do. MTR has invested some in Binion's and it's still a rathole. GN is really nice, but when it sits next to the Plaza and the Fremont, etc. it's like a poodle in a pigpen.
Until somebody gets smart and invests monster bucks in the monorail going around the Strip completely and downtown, downtown is going to languish, imho. Forget getting the monorail to the airport. Nobody is going to want to lug 4 suitcases onto the monorail, and up and downstairs. Plus, by the time it's completed, the airport is going to be out of town. Oops. His Mayorship is amazing. He gets things done, and with aplomb. Unfortunately, I think the gin gets to him at times and he doesn't completely think stuff out. But, I'm looking forward to the cool artstuff that's coming. |
