Default New mod for finance and investing?

I post there a bit, but surf it a ton. Id be willing to mod it, especially since it is a relatively low volume forum.

Qualifications: Good 2+2 rep, finance major, and am always on 2+2

I agree that you would prob make a good mod.

I already stated that I was interested in the position in the Sniper green no more thread and pmed Mat about it.

Specifically I would like to see the stickies grouped together, an FAQ set up and that the content remain as high quality as it has always been.

I'm studying financial maths, and spend a lot of time on 2+2 as well.

ahnuld,

Can you describe what types of threads you'd like to see more of in that forum?

Id probably try to clear out a bit of the "I got $10,000, what do I do?" type posts. They are fine, but the standard answer is diversify it in vanguard EFTs, so there doesnt need to be 3 new threads on that every week. I thought sniper did a good job as mod though, so I wouldnt change that much. Id prob. also try to get some of the best memebers more actively involved, such as scorpion man, who as a former hedge fund manager has some really great knowledge and has really shown a willingess to teach.

I could also envision getting some more discussion going about jobs in finance/i-banking and that entire process.

An FAQ, which could be put together with all of the regulars, would help reduce that. I think the 'rate my portfolio' threads are still important though.

Scorpion Man has already contributed to 2 or 3 very long threads about what he does. There are some other hedge fund managers, such as Hawk, who are extremely knowledgable as well. Not to mention Naj and DesertCat who contribute regularly.

I like the idea of getting more discussion about jobs in finance, perhaps we could use the same type of thread that was in EDGD and BBV4L about what you do in your job.

Edit: The EDGD thread and the BBV4L thread
