4/180 Post Bubble Nanopair
I really thought this one through at the time and I'd just read an article by Howard Lederer where he advises pressing small edges in late-stage tournament play.
Situation: We just popped the bubble in a 4/180 and I've made it in with a below average stack. Villain has a gigantic chip lead over the rest of the field and this is the first orbit I've seen him play. My thoughts at the time: Given his chip and table position villain can raise a wide range here. I'm not likely to see a flop I like with this hand therefore calling is useless and folding gets me no closer to the real money. It's very likely I have a tiny edge over his hand and should try to milk the chip leader. I just wanted to check with you guys to see if my logic is, well, logical in this situation. Would a stop and go be the better option? Insta-fold? Thoughts, comments, criticisms greatly appreciated! Re: 4/180 Post Bubble Nanopair
Well ok, I just read a few posts similar to my own where pretty much everyone seems to advocate taking the small edge so I'll try to make this more interesting.
If you are villain here with an unpaired hand, do you ever fold to a shove if you miss the flop but have one/two overs? What if you hold connectors with a gutshot draw? Call with a backdoor draw? |

Re: 4/180 Post Bubble Nanopair
I think this is fine. A stop 'n go wouldn't really work because your stack isn't the right size for it. You are offering him 6000 to win 10,000 so you might have some FE. I'd be even more inclined to do this if villain had been abusing the bubble previously.
