Default 9 handed vs 6, Pushbot Bubble Question ?

This might seem trivial but I was surprised as my own answer as it is opposite of what I would have thought.

Question: Which is the higher mountain to climb a bubble in a 6 handed or 9?

So the situation is that you are a pushbot and fold you way to the bubble, but a lucky pushbot as you never need to defend your blinds so you’ll hit the bubble with 1500 chips.

9 handed total chips in play 13,500
Bubble = 4 players you are at 1500 chips so that leaves a total of 12,000 / 3 for an average stack you play against is 4000 chips.

6 handed total chips in play 9,000
Bubble = 3 players you are at 1500 chips so that leaves a total of 7,500 / 2 for an average stack you play against is 3750 chips.

Doh.. I thought the 6 handed number would be higher, what was I smoking?

So… does this mean that 6 H’s should be easier to cash?

No, you are approaching this problem from the wrong angle. 2/6 players in 6max cash, 3/9 cash in 9max. In both cases this is 1/3 so they are equally difficult to cash in for the average player. If anything, against equally skilled players a pushbot strategy of playing extreemly tight until the blinds get big will be less effective in 6max because you will have to post more blinds in the early rounds and lose more chips from posting those blinds.

Simple ICM calculation. For a $20 buy in you have $24.93 in equity for the 9 handed example. Same buy in, $23.00 in equity for the 6 handed example. So, overall you're better off in 9 handed play.

Edit: Listen to anything Newt says as he is SNG god.

Damn an answer from Newt_Buggs, man this kicks ass.
OK I'll accept the 1/3 and the blinds in a real sense but my question was in "theory" if you could stay equal to the blinds and hit a the bubble at your full chip value.

I guess in practice your answer covers it all...
Thanks!
