PLO8 at Harrah's last week

For most of the week, Harrah's in LV was running a $1-2 PLO8 game w/ a max buyin of $300. Unfortunately it wasn't a whole lot of action, but it was nice to play something other than Hold 'em for a change.

I heard about this too from a friend, same reaction too. They couldn't keep the game full, but then again, who goes to Harrahs looking for PLO. Anyways, these PLO variants have poppped up here and there the past 2 years around town, low limit style, but they always fail because holdem is easier and more tourists/fish/percieved fun at NL holdem, vs trying to figure out how to actually bet/play PL games.

Ya I agree . I`m getting tired of the collective donk mindset where the only game in the universe is N/L holdem.
I remember a few years back Binions had several games going before this donkfest took the world by storm.
When I get back down to vegas I`ll be scouring the city for some PLO and other games.

Rio many evenings, particularly weekends, gets mix games going. Last weekend I dropped in on a Badugi/Omaha8/TripleDraw/Stud8/CaliforniaSplit 4/8 game. It was still going at 7am when I bailed.

MonteCarlo tries to do 4/8 HORSE every Thursday night.
Caesars does 4/8 HORSE now and then.
Venetian does 4/8 or 6/12 HORSE now and then.
TI happily deals mix games if they can get the players.

But there exists no place you can show up at 8pm and be sure of finding LL mix games. They remain hit and miss.

SOooo...PLO at Harrah's? That musta been tough on the dealers. Mind you, I really like the guys and gals at Harrah's, but unless they volunteered for WSOP duty the last year or two I don't imagine any of 'em have dealt PL or Omaha in the last 2 years.

Most of the dealers did pretty well and all in all I was impressed with how well they handled the game. It was PLO8 and the only problems one or two had was with the pot sized raises

oh yeah, since i'm not playing in it this week, i'll throw out a plug for the Sam's Town Sunday 2pm HORSEament. TT wrote a TR a couple weeks ago and i wrote a "wtf tournament ruling" about it last week.
