Default Two Hands from LAPC Day 1

A solid tight player is on my right (seat 9) and a high limit cash game player who plays $500/$1000 limit game at Commerce is on my left (seat 3). I'm at Seat 2. Seat 9 showdown good cards. Seat 3 has been very lucky in the first 3 levels and hits flops and catches on the river.

Hand 1. 100/200,
seat 9 UTG raises 600. MP folds.
I look down QQ (I have 12000). I call (call is good?).
LP, Button and SB call.
Flop 256.
SB checks, UTG bets 1700. Hero call. Fold,Fold. SB raises to 5000, UTG folds.

Hero?

Hand 2. 100/200/25
2 limpers. I'm at CO, limp in with black 44.
SB, BB checks.

Flop 75Q 2 spades. Check to me. I bet 1000. SB calls. All other folds. SB is the high limit cash player with 40000. I have 13000.

Turn 3d. SB checks, I bet 3000. SB calls.
River 3h. SB checks, hero? (What's SB's range?)

Default Re: Two Hands from LAPC Day 1

hand 1 -

i would still reraise preflop, its doubtful he 3bets AK or JJ and you have position and relatively deep stacks. However, if you don't reraise preflop much a call is fine.

I guess i'd fold the flop, real sticky spot but I don't know if 88-JJ c/r into a solid tight PFR and a cold caller in back. In theory he could be bluffing, your hand looks weak and he might think UTG might fold TT/JJ (or he might have a different read.)

hand 2 - check, you have some showdown value and limit players don't like to fold pairs and you beat a lot of draws.
