Kid friendly Vegas hotels?
My sister, her husband and 2 girls (8 and 9) want to go to Vegas for a few days early April and were wondering which hotel was the most "kid friendly" and reasonable priced of the bunch? Also, is this time of year (early April) warm enough in Vegas for pool access?
TIA |

Well you could take 'em to Wet N Wi... oh wait, Wet N Wild is gone now. Well you could visit MGM's amusement park out back...oh wait, those are now condos. Well there are the magic motion machin.... ooops...never mind, those got taken out. The kid-friendly Vegas never caught on and is nearly dead.
CircusCircus is the closest thing to kid-friendly you're gonna find. And it's approaching being a dump, though it is usually about the cheapest on-strip casino. There are some things for kids to do scattered about (coasters, the CC indoor amusement park, arcades). 8yo and 9yo girls maybe don't want to go hiking RedRock, Valley of Fire or Mojave National Preserve. So the pickings are slim. But for two days I imagine you can find enough to do among CC, Excalibur, pools, volcanos, fountains, lightshows, flowers, and whatnot. But Vegas ain't Orlando. |

Re: Kid friendly Vegas hotels?
Excalibur is your best (and close to only) option.
Families with kids used to stay at the Circus before Excal opened (includinng mine when I was a tyke). Excal is your best option, easily. |

Re: Kid friendly Vegas hotels?
If your sister has never been, or its been a while, it might not be a bad idea to let her know that there are all the billboards and all with half naked people, the slapper guys handing out the free porn stripper/hooker catalogs, and whatever else sex oriented that vegas will throw at them. The family image is almost gone, and is back to the good ol' sex sells, or whatever happens in vegas stays in vegas theme. I like all this, as most of us do, but if your sister is one of the religious types, or doesn't want her girls bombarded with all this, she needs to pick a different vacation spot, or leave the kids behind.

Re: Kid friendly Vegas hotels?
Excalibur usually has pretty good rates during the week and last I knew had a big arcade in the lower level. NYNY is right across the street and last I knew it also has an arcade and a roller coaster and the ESPN zone there had a good arcade as well.
Personally the kids in Vegas thing has never appealed to me, at least until they hit 21, and I still think it is really more geared towards adults now. Disney s a far better place to take a couple of younger kids IMO. But, to each their own. |

[/ QUOTE ] They even changed the pirate show out front to be more racy. the pirates now fight sirens, who are hot chicks they added that sing and dance. I think the old version of the show was better. |
