88 and donk by weak-tight villain.
Villain is ~20/3/.7 over ~800 hands.
Paradise Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 4 folds, CO calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, CO calls. Just dump it? If I call here, I probably have to call down anyway, no? A raise probably does nothing, but spewing money, I assume? I don't really put too much stock in my backdoor draws here... |

Re: 88 and donk by weak-tight villain.
Given the read and play I think you are definitely behind with prob 4 outs to a set and your weak draws I think its a fold

Hero insta-folds.
If a rock like this bets OOP, I'm beaten here. I'd even fold this against way more aggressive players. |

Yes, I'm an idiot. I called down. I even let this guy pull this same thing twice on me. He had QJ here and the second time (QTx board) Qx.

Re: 88 and donk by weak-tight villain.
If you have the numbers on the table, so you know what kind of player he is, you should try to include that in your realtime decision process.
If you understand what 20/3/0.7 means as far as hand range, you really have to allow it to help guide your decisions. But also, if you are at risk of leaking 2 big bets under these conditions, then you need to raise/fold the flop, either to get free cards on the turn (if he is as passive as it looks) or because when he reraises you, you know he has the goods, and you can probably find an easier fold. Plus you save 1.5BB!! |

I think this is a prime example of when pot size matters. I know pot size matters in every hand but its the deciding factor here.
Pot is small and your probably drawing to 2 outs. Dump it. |

Re: 88 and donk by weak-tight villain.
*grunch*
Either a Raise or fold here, VERY VERY read dependent and also take into consideration how people think you are. Im favoring a fold as this is a difficult hand to play in this spot. If Raise with a follow up turn bet is FE>30% I might pop it. Calling is worst option as you get nothing for your bet. |

Re: 88 and donk by weak-tight villain.
Easy fold.
I've already seen the result but before that I was thinking about hands that weak players like to limp with in late position. If you look at SSHE tight chart you see hands like KJ,KT,QJ,QT,JT,J9s. So the flop fits perfectly to opponents range. |
