SUNDAY GRAND: Pocket 9\'s with QQQ flop
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
CO (t510) Button (t3565) SB (t4170) BB (t5415) UTG (t1225) Hero (t3140) MP1 (t3380) MP2 (t2720) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to t200, 3 folds, Button calls t200, 1 fold, BB calls t150. Flop: (t625) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, Hero bets t450, Button raises to t1250, BB folds, Hero folds. Final Pot: t2325 No reads on villain. My thinking here was most people playing this tourney are huge donks and idiots so only someone with a decent amount of poker knowledge makes this move. After playin the hand I think I should've checked the flop, as I would've gotten way more info. what do you think? |

Re: SUNDAY GRAND: Pocket 9\'s with QQQ flop
Dude, what hand are you putting button on here?
JJ+ re-raises preflop. A queen is possible, but very unlikely. A lot of villains would just call with it here. TT is plausible. |

Re: SUNDAY GRAND: Pocket 9\'s with QQQ flop
I put him on a Q i guess, Like KQ, JQ. as unlikely as that is. Like I said, no reads on villain, so I didn't want to make the call here and basically commit my whole stack with no reads.

Re: SUNDAY GRAND: Pocket 9\'s with QQQ flop
It's REALLY rare to see quads raise the flop, unless there's a read involved. I'd call here. It's a textbook flop for weak to medium players to raise, figuring it "couldn't" have hit the better.

Re: SUNDAY GRAND: Pocket 9\'s with QQQ flop
Ya I am like 100% sure you folded the best hand here, I am not even sure TTs are all that plausible (he could play any PP, 22-JJ, for Set potential I suppose and then just decide to Attempt to take this one down, but that is all, you are beat by T's and J's here MAYBE) No Way Quads bets this unless he is either a VERY VERY good player or a VERY VERY bad player and you certainly dont have that read either way... So just play this staight forward as if he was any regular donk and push to his re-raise... you cant smooth call this and let him draw to his possible overs...

This is a no brainer, he raises, you push all in. You have to be ahead about 95% of the time.
