Getting WSEX To Lower The Vig On AI To Encourage Trading

I called WSEX to see if they could lower the vig and I will be talking with the owner in an hour. They are not sure if they want to do it right now but I told them that it might encourage a lot more trading.

Good luck with that. With the bottom line in mind, it's like telling other Sportsbook to lower their vig to attract more customers.

I seriously doubt there are thousands of people thinking man id love to bet on american idol its too bad the vig will make it difficult for me to turn a profit

1. i think you are swimming upstream

2. the vig is more pronounced because of the sheer number of contestants. it will fall in line later. however, wsex is the most expensive site for AI, but the very best in terms of liquidity. it is a price we pay.

My argument to them that they will make more money by lowering the vig. More trading means more closed out contracts and more vig overall.

Here is how the vig could/should look

24 or less contestants: 1 point spread

6-12 2 point spread

6 until the winner 3 point spread

True dat. I have some shares on intrade which has very low vig but horrible liquidity.

For example I've got shares of Sanjaya on intrade, but I couldn't sell them even if I wanted to. The highest bid is 1.6, and even at that price I could only unload 17 shares. There's just no buyers. At WSEX I could sell Sanjaya if I wanted (at 4, currently).
