goin' to buy 10k in investments today

I'm no longer busto and am almost to the point where I was pre busto. I'm going to the bank today and looking to purchase some investments and the people in the investment forum frown upon questions like this. I'm willing to take some risks, but I think if the money goes into a diversified fund I know the risks go down. I'm happy with a 90% chance of making lets say >6% return a year. Will cocaine prices rise in the next year? Maybe I can purchase the rights to some 17 year old $luts and use them as my hoes next year? Will these options get me my required rate of return? Are there any other options that BBV4LIFE suggests besides the obvious Blackjack cardinal system(me thinks das whats it called). I actually want to hold something of value that will appreciate not gamble, perhaps the purchase of a slave is in order?

Vanguard Funds are a favorite of mine. How long is this money going to stay invested? hard to figure out a good strategy if you need it for hookers and blow on Cinco de Mayo.
