Just FYI, the video has basically nothing to do with superstring theory. In superstring theory, the extra dimensions are definately spatial dimensions.

As for "believing in string theory," you could call me a string theory skeptic. If someone found supersymmetric particles, or the theory was good for predicting the value of the cosmological constant or the known particle masses -- or could even replicate the standard model particle physics that we already know, I'd be more inclined to jump on board.
