Default 24 turbo: a HU call

I was told in the chat by one of the presumingly best players at this level that this call was "kinda dumb". What am I missing?

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Tournament
Blinds: t500/t1000
2 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
SB: t10480
Hero: t3020

Pre-flop: (2 players) Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
<font color="#cc0000">SB raises all-in t10480</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero calls all-in t2020</font>.
Uncalled bets: t7460 returned to SB.

Also he pushed 53o. I'd say his push was worse than my call? (I'm not saying it was bad)

Pushing with blinds at this never can rarly be incorrect with any two cards because of fold equity. calling, on the other hand, can be terrible. Here tho your getting 2.5-1 pot odds, it's HU, and villian is pushing any two cards. I think you've got to call. A general rule of thumb when heads up is that at pot odds of 2-1 you can call with a hand slightly worse than villians range. As villian here is cleary pushing ATC you can call with ATC.

Can you divulge this player's name? I'm curious.

Sorry but I don't think that is appropriate. And it might be against the rules also.

It's definitely not against the rules. You just can't give somebody's 2p2 screenname and their pstars screename (or whatever site screenname they play at).

Easy call though.

Well, unless he has a high PP you have the odds to call. Even against AK you will win 38% of the time, and you get better odds than that. Your call was correct.
