Default 99, really awkward spot against a shortstack donk.

Button is a shortstack donk with about 30BB.
I'm in the SB with 99.

3 folds. Button raises to 4 BB. I make it 15 BB, planning to insta-call a push from him obviously. Big blind folds. Button flat-calls instead of pushing.

Flop K-Q-3.

Hero curses.

He's never folding a better hand if I push. He'll fold if he has absolutely nothing. If I check he might bluff with any two, but I'm not sure.

What to do? Put him in? Check-call? Check-fold?

So, you put half your stack in preflop, and now what?!?!?

Push pre, call pre, fold pre. Don't do what you did.

Are you sure you're reading the hand right?

Button is the one with 30 BB. I'm re-raising for value against him. Pushing pre-flop is obviously stupid because the big blind has yet to act, if he 4-bets I fold and save myself money.

He asks that because he put in half of the button's stack, not his. However, I don't like this play either.

I would not fold it for sure, especially if Donk read is correct. However, listen to AJ, if you are not going to get this guy all-in preflop just call and see if you flop set or overpair. How big was your stack? How big was the BB stack? I think you are in good shape against a random hand in the big blind. However, I hate the 15bb raise, I raise it to 30 bb's. BB won't re-raise without a big hand and you get button all in while you have the best of it (presumably).

Don't worry about the extra bets if it's re-raised. Also, you are more likely to get pushed at 15 then 30 by bb. This is not a time to be timid.

I suppose your concern here is 'if i raise to 30 (or push), what if BB wakes up with a hand?'

Well, that happens sooo rarely that it shouldn't be a concern.

How many bb's is full-stacked? I'm not giving you a hard time, I really am asking. Is that 100 bb's or 200 ? The maximum buy amount? I've never heard stack amounts defined that way.
