jumprope with weighted handles?

I snapped my cheap plastic jumprope and am going to get a new one in a bit. leather one with weighted handles, or lightweight plastic? pros/cons to each?

i have a leather one w/ removeable weights in the handle. i never use the weights. i get PLENTY of a workout w/out them. i thought i would use the weights all the time. jumping rope was harder than i remembered.
