Walking Out on a Movie
(DISCLAIMER: Apologies if this has been done, haven't seen it before and searching yielded nothing)
Reading in the Smoking Aces thread inspired this question. Now obviously if you are watching a movie at home, turning the channel, stopping the DVD, etc. are not really a big deal and are done often when I lose interest in a movie. When at the movies, however, I feel this obligation to ride the misery out to the end. The only movie I walked out on w/o any reason besides it being deplorable was John Cusack's "Must Love Dogs." I was with a girl who wanted to see it, and I was dying of boredom at Cusack hate until finally she said, "this movie sucks. wanna leave?" and I was free to go. Other people talk about it as if they leave movies on a regular basis, and I was just curious what movies have been so bad for you that you actually left the theater? |

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
The only movie I walked out of was Showgirls. Even the hot naked chicks couldn't force me to stay for the whole 2 hours on that piece of crap.

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
I walk out on a lot of movies...sometimes they are even decent/good ones which I think I'm simply not in the mood for at the time.
I watch a ton of movies though so that may be way I'm quick to walk out on dull ones. |

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
I've never walked out . . . but I also don't go to see movies that are likely to suck.

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
Never. Mainly because I rarely go to the movies and when I do, it's because I really, really want to see the movie (Borat, Casino Royale etc)

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
My GF wanted to see Happy Feet one day but I wanted to see Casino Royale. It was raining out so we went to the movie theatre early when happy feet was playing. About 15 minutes in she was like, 'This is retarded' so we walked out to a showing of Casino Royale. IT was the right decision, both agreed. I don't remember ever walking out besides that.

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
I have never walked out of a movie. The only movie I would have walked out of is the English Patient. The only reason I didn't, is because I fell asleep.

I walked out on Casino Royale last night, but only because the girl I was with really wanted to [censored] me.

[/ QUOTE ] you're joking, right?? Casino Royale's first 15 minutes are fantastic. there is only 1 movie I've walked out on. 28 Days Later. Which was really sad because I really wanted to see it. |

Re: Walking Out on a Movie
The only one I've ever walked out of was Charlie's Angel's 3.
We didn't see it on purpose - we ended up missing a late show, and that was the only thing still playing. I think we lasted 30min before my friends and I left to go drink. |
