Brag: Poker Sites setting up foreign bank accounts for US VIPs
Brag:
http://www.thepokerchronicles.com/ Some casinos, his included, are now starting to register foreign bank accounts for their VIP customers, of which I am fortunate enough to be one. I will automatically have a checking account set up and be given a debit card with which to access it. That's brilliant, but I don't know how well that will work for poker. I'm not sure how that will help a new random schmuck get up and running on PokerStars. Maybe sites could automatically create a new British bank account for every customer, I don't know and didn't really think to ask. Beat: My .25/.50 NL playing apparently doesn't qualify me for VIP status. Should be of interest to some of the ballas there though. |

Re: Brag: Poker Sites setting up foreign bank accounts for US VIPs
My regular checking account only costs me 9 dollars a month. This may be a loophole in the UIGEA enforcement scheme. It's one thing to go after a high-profile ewallet like Neteller. But if there are numbered bank accounts scattered all over the world, there's no way in the world they will stop that.
I guess the downside is that wiring money from the average bank isn't nearly as convenient as using Neteller. But foreign banks could make it more convenient, and I'm sure they could hit up the poker sites for a commission every time they wire something to or from the sites. |
