Why would you call preflop without the intention of pushing most flops? If you interpret his minraise as weak then you should push. If you interpret it as strong then you should fold.

Why would you check that flop without the intention of calling a push instantly? It's not a bad spot to stop-n-go if he's the kind of player who would give up a missed A-high or small pair on the flop.

No matter what your read, there's no way you're justified in calling a raise preflop and check-folding top pair on the flop in that spot.

Slims bang on. What were you hoping for when you called preflop? What was your plan when you checked top pair?

I don't mind the check/call on the flop. But, I don't like the preflop call.
