Default Reraised pot I completely botched

Villain is pretty loose pf, about 40 VPIP and he's a looser raiser in position with a PFR of about 20. He's almost always either rr or folded his BB to my steal and can have a wide range here and I'm sure he's positionally aware.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com

BB ($345.40)
UTG ($171.15)
Button ($58.80)
Hero ($186.15)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, Hero raises to $4, BB raises to $12, Hero calls $8.

Flop: ($24) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $15, Hero raises to $45, BB calls $30.

Turn: ($114) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks.

River: ($114) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $55, BB raises to $288.4, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $457.40

I think the river bet is the most questionable of all my decisions.

just fold to the reraise preflop.

your flop checkraise is terrible, I would just check/call down if I did get that far

Fold PF

Try to explain to yourself why you're raising the flop and you should figure out why it sucks so bad.

I agree, fold preflop. Even though we know that he is 3 betting light that doesn't mean that calling his 3bets withg JT OOP is a good move. In fact that is exactly what he wants and you are playing into his hands playing against him OOP with marginal hands.

Usually with these kind of guys i will tighten up my steal attempts against them and try to only tangle with them when i have the goods due to his positional advantage.

When you check raised the flop were you intending it as a bluff?

Fold preflop. If he 3-bets your steals often then fold right away, otherwise fold when he 3-bets. Check/call the flop.

Only hand I can put villain on is AK/AQ of spades. Otherwise, I think his play here would be really weird.

Both TT and 88 seem unlikely and 77 seems a little weak for the way he played this hand.

But then again, he's loose so ... I'd be somewhat lost.
