Maybe. A lot of players call with any pair out of the bring-in once the pot is already multi-way. That being said, he hasn't shown any great strength so you absolutely have to call on 7th- I would have even bet 6th. Most sound players after having 3 people already call 4th would raise with trips.

No, seriously, I take it you didn't have a read on this guy? I wouldn't be surprised if he had the trips or two smaller pair. You know as well as I do, the vast majority of the folks at 2/4 will call every time with any pair, any 3 flush cards, or any 3 random high cards whether they are live or not.

I agree with cgrohman, he should have been raising if he had the trips. But if he is a holdem player that just decided to play stud one day, he could be slowplaying his "set" of threes.
