bet flop/fold turn after come back 2

mp has 77/66/55. co can beat top pair. basically on that board a,2,5,6,7,8 all are dangerous cards.

call 2bb is too much.

Betting the flop is the play here. Try to eliminate some people. The turn is a bit tricky. If CO knows that MP is all in, he might be raising lighter than you expect hoping to eliminate the competition knowing that he will never be 3 balled by MP. Based on the action CO likely has an overpair to your nines.

Can you please clarify if CO is completing to $20 or raising to make it $38?

i agree under normal condition co can raise light because mp's all-in. But i think it's less likely on this hand because of the board texture. it's small-card connected board. Bb is in the pot. that board helps bb a lot. also mp has a made hand because he is short stack. If mp does not have a made hand, in order to drag as much money as possible, he will c/c his drawing hands instead of betting and likely to be raised by co to shut out the field. So high possibility co can beat hero's 99.

Thanks for the input so far. It seems that betting the flop would have been best here. By default I instinctively "go with the flow" and check to the preflop aggressor.

I don't think that MP's action should have much effect on my decision. The CO only completed the bet to $20.

After I called the flop and found myself closing the action on the turn, I just about had odds to hit my set (considering implied odds are likely good for this action) and the times I actually have the best hand.

On the river, getting 18 to 1 I crying called, hoping CO bet a hand like 77 or AK all the way to the river and that nobody else had better than TP.... thats a lot to hope for.
