Why couldnt Danny get a credit line?

I was gonna post this on FCP but I dont have an account there and apparently all the Daniel Negreanu chatter has moved to NVG from what I have seen.

Anyways, in his latest blog, he says he want to borrow money from Ivey, but Ivey says he would rather donk it off at baccarat than let Danny N. borrow it. Why did Phil have to get Daniel a credit line at the casino. Why couldnt Daniel go to the casino himself and get the line?

Because he is Canadian. Also, because casinos are happy to extend credit to players who like to donk off money at pit games, less happy to extend credit to those who don't.

Also, this occurred in Australia, not LV.

Sorta weird that out of all the big time balla poker players there not a single one would loan him 100k.

Also sorta weird he'd fly all the way to Australia without wiring a ton of cash ahead.

I don't gamble in the pit so I never open up a players account on the road. As for not wiring money over, I had no idea that the 100k buy in was legit so it would seem foolish to wire over a lot of money since I only planned on playing in the 10K buy in.

I didn't ask anyone for money other than Ivey and he set me up with the credit line. Now that E-DOG won it, I'll get him to pay off the marker for me.

Excellent. NVG is measurably better when clarifications come straight from the source.
