The pot is pretty large, and I think against this type of opponent, check/calling is pretty much the best line here.

Makes sense to me because I really don't want to bet/fold in this larger pot, plus his action indicates to me he's either already ahead or is pulling off some kind of strange bluff, so the check is fine.
